Kenneth D. Knapp, 82, of Palmyra, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

Kenneth D. Knapp, 82, of Palmyra, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Taylor. Ministers of the Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Taylor. The Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Taylor.

Kenneth was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Congerville, Ill., to Fred and Liela Reeser Knapp.

He was married to Phyllis Denler on Nov. 10, 1957, in Danvers, Ill. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Vicki Knapp, Monroe City, and Kim Buckman (Stuart), Monroe City; one son, Kevin Knapp (Jennifer), Palmyra; five grandchildren, Andy Buckman (Mo), Brandon Buckman (Mitzi), Devin Knapp, Colin Knapp and Emily Knapp; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Fredrick Knapp (Marge), Loren Knapp (Joan), Robert  Knapp (Jean) and Gerald  Knapp (Nancy), all of Eureka, Ill.; and one sister, Mary Steffen, Eureka, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Adair Lynn Knapp; three brothers, Wilbur, Maurice and Clyde Knapp; and three sisters, Lucille Blunier, Katheryn Funk and an infant.

Kenneth graduated from Eureka (Illinois) High School in 1953.

Kenneth's main occupation was road construction. He did some farming. He lived in Illinois and worked for Roe Construction. In 1975, he and his family moved to Emden to farm. He farmed and worked construction for Freesen's.

He was a minister for the Taylor Apostolic Christian Church of America for 27 years.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice andor James E. Cary Cancer Center.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Knapp, Devin Knapp, Colin Knapp, Stuart Buckman, Andy Buckman and Brandon Buckman.
