Ron Parsons, 61, of New London, passed away at 1:24 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at his home.

Ron Parsons, 61, of New London, passed away at 1:24 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at his home. 

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Tom Day will officiate.

Friends and family are invited to Ron's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 5 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Ron was born Sept. 4, 1956, in Hannibal to Glen and Jane Krigbaum Parsons.

Survivors include his parents of New London; three children, Kurtis Parsons of Sedalia, Jared Parsons of Hannibal and Craig Parsons of Moberly; three sisters, his twin sister, Rhonda Pickett of Hannibal, Vickie Parsons of New London and Cyndi Kilby of Hannibal; and one grandchild, Breahnna Parsons of Hannibal. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by one brother, Gregg Parsons.

Ron was a 1974 graduate of Mark Twain High School in Ralls County, where he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and football.

Ron was a successful entrepreneur. He opened Parson’s Convenience store on Highway 61 in the mid 1970s and operated it for over 30 years. Ron was also the proprietor of R and R Baseball cards of Hannibal and held a business interest in the Cannon Hills Golf Course.

An avid sports fan, Ron loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. Johnny Bench was Ron’s favorite player. Golfing and spending time in Fort Myers, Fla., were also times enjoyed by Ron. Most of all Ron cherished the time he shared with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter, Breahnna.

Ron attended the New London First Christian Church.
