Vince was born Dec. 28, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Paul B. Lukowski and Jeana Gunn Lukowski Hutchinson.

Survivors include his father, Paul B. Lukowski of Hannibal; four sisters, Elizabeth Boyer (Brian) of Machesney Park, Ill., Jennifer McClintok (James) of Golden, Ill., Marian Taylor (Scott) of O'Fallon and Joanne Lammert (Scott) of Wentzville. Also surviving are Vince’s four nieces, seven nephews and two great-nephews and many special friends at the Beth Haven Nursing Home.

Vince was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.

Vince attended St. Thomas Seminary in Hannibal and was a 1983 graduate of Hannibal High School, where he was on the wrestling team.

He attended Northeast Missouri State University, now Truman State University in Kirksville, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

Vince enjoyed golfing and in his younger years, worked at the Hannibal Country Club in the Pro Shop. He also gave many in Hannibal their first swimming lessons as a lifeguard and instructor at the Hannibal YMCA. Vince also enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to the movies often.

Vince maintained a connection to his Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity brothers over the years. In fact each year, Vince’s fraternity would host its annual “Vince Run,” an annual fundraising project in honor of Vince to support the Beth Haven Nursing Home and a scholarship in Vince’s name. The SigEps engage in an annual relay run from the SigEp house in Kirksville to Vince’s room at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal. Each SigEp brother runs a mile and passes the baton to the next brother for 97 miles. Vince’s SigEp brothers also hosted an alumni golf tournament each year in Vince’s honor.

Vince will be remembered for his amazing spirit and talkative disposition that always made it easy for him to make friends. Vince always had a sparkle in his eye and cherished most the time he shared with family and friends.

Vince was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Beth Haven Nursing Home or Sigma Phi Epsilon at Truman State University in honor of Vince Lukowski.
