Alfred Lee Brocaille, 81, of Hannibal, passed away at 9:17 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.

Alfred Lee Brocaille, 81, of Hannibal, passed away at 9:17 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hannibal. Rev. Jeff Anderson will officiate.

Burial with full military rites by Boots Dickson American Legion Post #174 will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Friends and family are invited to Alfred’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Alfred was born March 4, 1936, in Hannibal, Mo., to Homer and Pauline Shobe Brocaille.

Alfred was married on June 1, 1936 in Palmyra, to Annie Hathaway at her parent’s home. She survives.

Other survivors include two children, Jeff Brocaille (Tammy) of Papillion, Neb. and Kevin Brocaille (Karla) of St. Peters; one brother, Ed Brocaille (Flo) of Hannibal; one sister, Adelaide Minor (Ed Cruikshank); eight grandchildren, Jordan Brocaille, Caleb Brocaille (Julia), Cara Brocaille, Isaac Brocaille, Daniel Brocaille, Kipp Brocaille (Nikki), Kelsey Brocaille and Katie Brocaille; and two great-grandchildren, Skyler Brocaille and Summer Brocaille. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lloyd “Bud” Brocaille; and one sister, Anna Roselle.

Alfred served his country proudly in the United States Army. He began his professional career with the Dent Produce Company as a delivery driver. Alfred later drove a milk truck for a period making deliveries to St. Louis. This was followed by a period working as a Supervisor with the Marion County Highway Department before coming to Bleigh Ready Mix, where Alfred retired in 2007 after 30 years of service working as a truck driver and dispatcher.

Away from work, Alfred loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed playing cards, especially the game “Pitch.” Spending time reading or watching old TV sitcoms were pleasures that Alfred enjoyed. Alfred could often be seen mowing the grass at his church, Calvary Baptist.

Alfred was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Hannibal, where he was a member of the Home Builders Sunday School Class.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or to The Samaritan Purse.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Brocaille, Caleb Brocaille, Isaac Brocaille, Daniel Brocaille, Kipp Brocaille and Greg Drebes.
