Judith “Judy” Rose Kennedy, 74 of Columbia, formerly of Hannibal, passed away at her daughter's home at 1:33 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2017.
Judith “Judy” Rose Kennedy, 74 of Columbia, formerly of Hannibal, passed away at her daughter’s home at 1:33 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2017.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Burial will be at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.
Friends and family are invited to Judy’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Judy was born on Feb. 19, 1943, in Hannibal to Harold and Elizabeth Allen Dwyer.
She was married to Richard Dean Kennedy on April 27, 1963. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2015.
Also preceding Judy in death were her parents; one daughter, Liz Kennedy; and one brother, Bernie Dwyer.
Survivors include her three children, Kimberly Plakorus of Columbia, Danielle Kennedy of Columbia and Richard Kennedy II (Monica) of Springfield, Mo; one brother, John Dwyer (Ginger) of Palmyra; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Judy was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She was a talented seamstress and often made clothing for her children and grandchildren. Camping and fishing were also activities that Judy enjoyed with family, usually at Thomas Hill Lake. An avid reader, Judy enjoyed novels by Danielle Steele and the music of Elvis Presley. Bowling was another pasttime that Judy took pleasure in. Judy also liked to follow NASCAR, including her favorites, Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Judy was a Baptist by faith.
