Donna Jean Toalson, 70, of Hannibal, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.

Donna Jean Toalson, 70, of Hannibal, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Hannibal. Pastor Mark Albee will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal. The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal.

A visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Donna was born Sept. 26, 1947, in Hannibal to Roy D. and RosaleeBrooks Toalson.

Survivors include her brother, Carey A. Toalson (Brenda) of Hannibal; and nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her special friend and neighbor, Harvey Scott.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sandy Ghattas; and one brother, Roy Lee Toalson. She was also preceded in death by her close companion, Cleona Griffin.

Professionally Donna practiced as a nurse for over 30 years in the Phoenix, Ariz., area.

Away from work Donna enjoyed cooking and in particular barbequing. Donna grew up working with family at Abe’s Bar and Grill. She also enjoyed her animals and pets. In 1957 she was remembered in a feature article in LOOK Magazine for her love of animals and “tomboy” ways. Donna also simply enjoyed watching her TV shows. 

She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
