Bob was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Hannibal, to Loren Jessie and Fern Katherine McDonald Miller.

He was married to Margaret “Annie” Hirner on February 22, 1953 in Hannibal. She preceded him in death June 20, 2003.

Survivors include five children, Becky Harlow (Mike) of Troy, Patty Shepard of Hannibal,

Frances Winn (Larry) of Hannibal, Angie Hall (Bob) of Hannibal and Robert Miller of Hannibal; two brothers, Tom Miller (Connie) of Hannibal, Butch Miller (Shirley) of Hannibal; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Carl Miller; sister, Carolyn Meyer; and a brother, Rev. William Miller.

Professionally, Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic most of his life.

Away from work, Bob enjoyed repairing old engines and restoring old tractors. Many of those engine and transmission repairs took place on the family’s kitchen table, with Bob’s wife Annie assisting him by reading the manual aloud as he worked.

Fishing and hunting were activities that Bob enjoyed along with playing cards with family and friends. Most of all, Bob loved to spend time with family, especially his grandchildren, to whom he often served “Cowboy Tea” that was a delightful mix of hot tea with lots of milk and sugar.

Bob was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Rensselaer.
