Sue was born July 1, 1935, in Antlers, Okla., to Aaron R. and Lela Mae Petty Boggs.

She was married to R.W. "Chick" Hamilton on Feb. 3, 1961, in Palmyra, Mo. He survives.

Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and five brothers.

Professionally Sue first worked at Western Printing in Hannibal. She later worked at the Pastry Box and the Becky Thatcher Bookshop. Sue retired from the Hannibal Kirlin's Store, where she was a sales clerk for many years.

A wonderful homemaker, Sue loved to entertain and host gatherings for her family. Cooking her child’s favorite pie on their birthday every year was a family tradition. She also made the best homemade noodles, rolls and cornbread. Sue loved to sew and quilt and rarely missed her Wednesday quilting group with the Saverton Ilasco Methodist Church women. Whether reading one of her favorite mysteries, playing a game of solitaire or caring for her garden, Sue was always active. One of the activities she enjoyed most was dancing; she was a “boot kicker” for many years. Most of all Sue cherished her family and friends and always looked forward to the moments that they could share together.

Sue was a longtime member of the Saverton Ilasco United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saverton Ilasco United Methodist Church.
