Bones (Millard) Milligan, 80, of Alton, died at 6:12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Bones (Millard) Milligan, 80, of Alton, died at 6:12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

He was born to the late Loren & Emma J. (Stilley) Milligan on Sept. 11, 1936 in Pope County, Ill.

Bones retired after 43 years as a machinist at Owens-Illinois Mold Shop and then continued his career as a diesel mechanic at Diesel Component & Rebuilders in Alton. Bones was also a member of Tri County Rod & Gun Club.

Survivors include three daughters; Sherry (Grizz) Simmons of Alton, Susan (Mike) Seefeldt of New Mexico, Samantha (Dale) Reese of Perry, Mo., one son; Ron (Julie) Milligan of Florida; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dan (Jo Nell) Milligan of Ariz., Jim (Pam) Milligan of Illinois.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Alma Milligan; one sister and brother-in-law; Eva Dean and Tommy Little.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday Aug. 10, 2017, at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton.

A time of remembrance and meal will immediately follow the funeral service at the Alton Owls Club on Blair Avenue.

Burial will be private.

Memorials may be made to the Tri County Rod & Gun Club.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Perry, Mo. Details to follow.
