Jean E. Chapman, 83, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 4:32 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal, Mo.

Jean E. Chapman, 83, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 4:32 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal, Mo.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, Mo. Father Mike Quinn will officiate.

Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, Mo.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic Church.

The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of the arrangements.

Jean was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Hannibal, Mo., to Carl J. and Marie L. Till Rupp.

She was married to Thomas L. Chapman on Aug. 1, 1959, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hannibal, Mo. He survives.

Other survivors include her twin sister, Jeanette Rupp of Hannibal, Mo.; two brothers, Robert L. Rupp (Donna) of Hannibal, Mo., and Thomas J. Rupp (Suzanne) of Hannibal, Mo.; a very close cousin, Richard Rupp (Janice) of Hannibal, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews, Jeff Rupp and Jon Rupp; and other beloved family members.

Jean was a registered nurse at the Hannibal Clinic, retiring after 38 years. During her tenure at the clinic, she spent several years as the nurse supervisor. She was a former member of the Hannibal Regional Hospital Auxiliary. 

Her main hobby was family. Her life revolved around loving and taking care of her family, however she could. She will be missed by many.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kindheart Organization at the Hannibal Clinic or Holy Family Catholic Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Philip Foreman, Dr. Michael Bukstein, Dr. Stephen Halpin, Dr. Lent Johnson, Mark Collins and nieces and nephews.
