David was born Sept. 21, 1957, in Hannibal, Mo., to Donald E. and Norma Mullenix Beilsmith.

He was married to Rhonda S. Crabill on Feb. 13, 1994, in Hannibal, Mo. She survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Norma Beilsmith; one daughter, Amber Beilsmith (Dennis Crepps) of Mendon, Ill.; one brother, Danny Beilsmith of Hannibal, Mo.; one sister, Denise Crisp (Tim) of Hannibal, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his father.

David served his country proudly in the United States Army. While in the Army, David began driving a truck, this carried over into his civilian life. David was a professional truck driver for many years, first with G.C. Potterfield and more recently with Bleigh Construction Company.

Away from work, David enjoyed target shooting and attending auctions with his father. He loved to work on his 1960 GMC truck that he was currently restoring. Moments spending time with his daughter, Amber, or road trips with his wife, Rhonda, were always special even if it was just to take a ride and get some of David’s favorite sweet tea from Quick Trip. Around the house David and Rhonda were always working on a project together. David’s Dachshund, “Randall,” was one of his favorite companions for rides in the truck.

Hard-headed and opinionated at times, David was always a loving and caring person. David would give a stranger the shirt off of his back. Time shared with family and friends meant the most to David.

David was a Christian by faith.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet Cemetery or Community Loving Care Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Tim Crisp, Ben Beilsmith, Sean Crisp, John Beilsmith, Bill Lear and Jason Poage.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of David's friends and coworkers at Bleigh Construction.
