Rita Katherine Taylor, 86, of Monroe City, Mo., passed away at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Rita Katherine Taylor, 86, of Monroe City, Mo., passed away at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Rita was born on Dec. 25, 1930, in Hannibal, Mo., the daughter of Lambert and Lois Little.

Rita graduated from Holy Rosary High School in Monroe City. She was united in marriage to William F. Taylor on Aug. 20, 1951. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2013. Rita was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Monroe City, Mo., where she was active in the Daughters of Isabella. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Monroe City Nutrition Center. Rita was always a busy lady. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, crocheting, painting and anything that involved her family she cherished.

Survivors include six children, Phoebe Crow of Mexico, Mo., Stephen Taylor (Debbie) of Monroe City, Mo., Shane Taylor (Lynn) of Monroe City, Mo., Deana Taylor of Mexico, Mo., Mark Taylor (Virgie) of Fort Worth, Tx., and William Taylor of Monroe City, Mo.; three sisters, Ann Kunce, Theresa Teague, and Sue Roberts; two brothers, Jack Little and Pearl Little. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Denise, and several brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Monroe City. Fr. Mike Penn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in rural Perry, Mo. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, Mo., with a Rosary Service held at 4:45 p.m. and Prayer Service at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jason Taylor, John Taylor, Maverick Taylor, P.J. Kelly, Jeremy North and Josh Deal.

Honorary pallbearers will be Zack Kelly, Kevin Crow and Ben Taylor.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Monroe City Nutrition Center or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
