Dorothy "Dottie" M. Freas Ranabargar, 89, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 8:19 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo.

Dorothy "Dottie" M. Freas Ranabargar, 89, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 8:19 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Mo. Rev. Jason Hargraves will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, Mo.

Friends and family are invited to Dottie’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Dottie was born April 30, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo., to Jesse M. and Lucille Lusby Freas.

She was previously married to Sil Treaster. He preceded her in death. Dottie later married to C E. "Randy" Ranabargar on May 19, 1981, in Jefferson City, Mo. He preceded her in death Oct. 1, 2005.

Survivors include her son, Jim Treaster (Penny) of the state of Texas; her stepchildren, Beckie Reinerd (John), Rocky Bounds (Bill), Randy Ranabargar (Sheri), Robin Charlton, Larry Ranabargar, Gary Ranabargar (Dawn), Terri Harell (Neal), Teri Jo Ranabargar, Tammy Pence (Richard) and Tracey DeLaPorte (Darrin); and one brother, Ed Freas of Pekin, Ill. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, David G. Ranabargar; and one grandson, Alex C.D. Jones.

A graduate of Hannibal High School, Dottie worked as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell until she retired in 1979.

Dottie loved time with her family most, whether dining out together, a Sunday drive around town or moments with her grandchildren. Dottie also enjoyed gathering with her fellow retired telephone operators for their “pillow stuffers group”. Life’s simple pleasures were some of Dottie’s favorites, caring for her house plants, collecting butterfly collectibles or catching one of her favorite games shows on TV. A loving and caring spirit, Dottie cherished her family most.

Dottie attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Ben DeLaPorte, Dallas Ranabargar, Derek Ranabargar, Terry Sampson, Larry Ranabargar, and Gary Ranabargar.

Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Ranabargar, Jeremy DeLaPorte, Mike Land, David Ranabargar, Adam Ranabargar, Ryan Ranabargar, Joe Holman, Paul Holman, Jason Holman, Gabe Ranabargar, Nathan Ranabargar and Sean Harell.
