Charles R. Ogle, 90, of Center, Mo., passed away at 2:47 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at his home.

Charles R. Ogle, 90, of Center, Mo., passed away at 2:47 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at his home.

Graveside services and burial, with full military rites by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Center Cemetery in Center, Mo. Pastor Dan Peters will officiate.

The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Charles was born July 12, 1926, in Gatlinburg, Tenn., to Amos and Lucretia Trenham Ogle.

He was married to Virginia Mae Byers on Nov. 25, 1948, in New London, Mo. She survives.

Other survivors include children, Charles M. Ogle of Hannibal, Mo. and Adam Ogle (Amy) of Center, Mo.; one sister, Ina Swan of Hannibal, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Kaelee Elisabeth Ogle and Mackenzie Faith Ogle.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Charles Glen Ogle; and one daughter, Barbara Lynn Ogle.

Charles served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II.

He moved to Ralls County, Mo. in 1947 and began a career as a lifelong farmer. Charles enjoyed life on the farm. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and caring for his horses and fox hounds. Most of all, Charles cherished the time he shared with his family.

Charles was a member of the Center Baptist Church.
