Chase Oren Asmussen, 31, passed away on June 11, 2016, in Oakland, Calif., where he resided. He was born in Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 19, 1984, at Madison Hospital, and spent his childhood in Hannibal, Mo.

Chase Oren Asmussen, 31, passed away on June 11, 2016, in Oakland, Calif., where he resided. He was born in Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 19, 1984, at Madison Hospital, and spent his childhood in Hannibal, Mo.

Chase graduated Hannibal High School, Class of 2003. He went on to study art at the University of Missouri, Mizzou, before following his dreams and moving to California to pursue his passion for music. As an accomplished guitarist, Chase toured the United States and Europe in 2013 with the band Warm Soda, including a stop at the famous South by Southwest festival in Texas. He had significant talents in art and music, and his gifts inspired so many people along his journey. Chase enjoyed writing music, vintage art and fashion, and his love for animals was unconditional. He appreciated both the simplicities and eccentricities of life and embraced them throughout his lifetime.

Chase was a loving son, brother and friend. He is survived by his father ,Greg Asmussen, and wife Robyn Williamson; mother, Liz McNeil, and husband David McNeil; his true love, Bebhinn Edmunds; sisters, Brooke and Erica Asmussen and Carrie Rule; brothers, Michael, Kyle, and Sean McNeil; grandmother, Margaret Tabaka; and beloved nephew, Roman McKibben. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to share their stories of Chase at the celebration of life in his honor from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Java Jive in Hannibal, Mo.
