North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) President and Chief Executive Officer Don Patrick has named Kristi Brewer Wong as personnel officer and assistant deputy director for administration at the agency.
Wong, a Bowling Green native, replaces Layne Ebers of Eolia, who left recently to accept a position in Sedalia.
Wong will manage human resources responsibilities for the agency’s 140 full-time and more than 200 part-time employees, including administration of workers’ compensation, state and federal employment regulation compliance, facilitation of employee hiring and monitoring of personnel policies and regulations. She maintains a certification as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) as awarded from the Society of Human Resources Management.
Wong joins NECAC with more than 12 years of experience in the human resources management field. She spent the last five years as human resources director at the not-for-profit United Services Agency in St. Peters.
She also served as human resources analyst for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and personnel specialist for the City of North Miami, Fla.
NECAC is a 12-county area not-for-profit social service, community health and public housing Community Action Agency that contracts with federal, state and local governments, private business and other non-profit organizations to administer and deliver a variety of self-sufficiency programs to the low-income, elderly, youth, handicapped and disadvantaged.
