Macon, MO —

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that Route 151, just north of U.S. 36 in Shelby County, will close to traffic beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8.
The closure is necessary to allow the work to continue on the U.S. 36 four-lane project. Route 151 will remain closed to traffic during these next phases of the construction in the area:
• Constructing a box culvert on Route 151.
• Reconstructing the alignment of Route 151.
• Constructing and paving two ramps for the Clarence interchange.
• Paving U.S. 36 in the area.
The signed detour, which will be in place while the work progresses, is Route K to Route KK to Route 151.
Motorists must choose the detour or other alternate routes during the closure. MoDOT reminds motorists to exercise caution and pay close attention while traveling in the work zone area.
