Juvenile arrested for old school burglaries

An investigation into a burglary and property damage at the former Stowell School in the 700 block of Union Street in Hannibal has resulted in the arrest of a 15-year-old male juvenile.
The Hannibal Police Department reported officers were called to investigate a burglary of the building on Monday, July 21, at which time an unknown person had entered the building and caused damage to the interior.
Police were called again on Wednesday, July 23, after apparently someone had entered the building again and caused more damage.
Working with evidence collected at the scene, officers were able to identify a suspect who was located at his home and taken into custody around noon on Wednesday, July 30. As the investigation continues, more arrests are expected, according to the police.
