Palmyra, MO —

Nancy Lehenbauer Marshall, a native of Palmyra, will show a collection of her paintings at the Gardner House Museum beginning on June 28 through Sept. 5. The opening reception for the artist’s show is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at the museum.
A 48” x 24” oil painting titled “Passages” was created especially for the show. The Mississippi River is a prominent feature in the painting. Just as that great river has provided a passage for travelers through the ages, Nancy uses it as a metaphor for other passages.
For example, images in the painting of the artist’s grandmother and grandchildren represent the passing of family generations. Another detail in the painting showing a fossil being uncovered represents a deeper time frame. Nancy’s paintings develop through time. Images are created and change in her process but the final result of this method in “Passages” is a grand painting showing a pleasant repast overlooking a magnificent river and its valley.
Paintings and prints will be available for purchase. Images and stories about some of Nancy’s work can be found online at www.nlmstudio.com
