Charges filed in accident that killed two area residents

Three people, including two from Northeast Missouri, were killed in this accident near St. Louis on July 15, 2008. The truck driver whom authorities say caused the accident has been charged with three counts of involuntary manslaughter.

St. Louis, MO —

A truck driver is accused of involuntary manslaughter in a St. Louis area crash that killed two Northeast Missouri residents.
Jeffery Knight, 49, of Muscle Shoals, Ala., is charged with plowing his truck into traffic that was stopped on Interstate 64/40 near Interstate 270 last July.
The crash killed 88-year-old Alvin Mast of Kahoka and 55-year-old Lydia Miller of Canton. Fifty-five-year-old Charles Cason of Caseyville, Ill., also died.
Knight is in the St. Louis County Detention Center in Clayton on $250,000 cash-only bond.
