Quincy, IL —

The owner of a boa constrictor that was missing now faces drug charges with three others.
Fifty-four-year-old Daniel McLaughlin, his 18-year-old son, Thomas, and 18-year-old Taylor Meyers are charges with possession of marijuana, production of marijuana plants and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McLaughlin’s 21-year-old daughter, Danielle, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
The four were arrested after raids at two homes owned by Daniel McLaughlin.
McLaughlin drew attention throughout the Midwest when a boa constrictor he owns got loose near 24th and Payson in Quincy.
The eight-foot reptile was missing for two weeks before being spotted and caught last Sunday just a couple of houses from where it started.
McLaughlin was been cited for possession of a restricted animal without a permit and failure to report the escape of a restricted animal.
