Deer causes vehicle to leave road

A Louisiana man suffered minor injuries when his vehicle ran off the road while attempting to avoid a deer on Thursday night in Pike County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 9:10 p.m. on Missouri 79 north of U.S. 54. A 2002 Chevrolet Blazer was being driven south on Missouri 79 by 54-year-old Riley Harris. When Harris swerved to miss a deer his vehicle left the road and overturned, coming to rest on its side.
Harris, who was not wearing a safety device at the time of the accident, was taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital by Pike County Ambulance.
