Missouri deer harvest drops statewide

Rainy weather across much of Missouri is being blamed for the lowest deer harvest in a decade.
The Missouri Department of Conservation reports hunters statewide killed 86,214 deer last weekend, down from 98,296 last year. The numbers also decreased in Northeast Missouri.
Following are the totals by county: Lewis, 1,405; Marion, 1,124; Ralls, 1,314; Pike, 1,970; Lincoln, 1,716; Shelby, 1,574; and Monroe, 1,834.
The Missouri firearms season continues through Nov. 24. The second round of the archery season is Nov. 25 to Jan. 15, with the anterless season Nov. 25 to Dec. 6 and the muzzleloader season Dec. 19 to 29.
The Illinois firearms season is Nov. 20 to 22 and Dec. 3 to 6.
