Clarksville, MO —

A Clarksville man is recovering after what authorities say was an attempt by two houseguests to rob and kill him.
Michael Silipo, 24, and Mia Thompson, 20, are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree assault, felonious restraint and armed criminal action.
They’re accused of attacking Douglas Gittins at his home on Aug. 3. Authorities say the suspects had been staying with Gittins for a few weeks and planned to rob him.
Silipo and Thompson allegedly taped Gittins to a chair, sprayed his face with a fire extinguisher, hit him in the head with a hammer and tried to cut his throat with a saw blade.
Both are being held on $100,000 bond at the Pike County Jail pending a court date.
