Weather permitting, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway will be repairing the driving surface at the railroad crossing on Route U west of Monroe City at Ely.
While crews are working, Route U will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, Sept., 1 beginning at 8 a.m. and will remain closed until Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 4 p.m. Traffic will be detoured over Routes C and E, or motorists may use other local alternate routes during this time. Some areas of the road will be open to local traffic only.
