Louisiana is looking for a new city administrator.
Bob Jenne is leaving the position after two years to become police chief in East St. Louis.
Jenne, 60, will be paid $90,000. The East St. Louis City Council has approved a three-year contract with him.
Jenne has more than 35 years of law enforcement experience and was a police chief in Berkeley. He also had served as interim police chief in Louisiana after the resignation of Jim Graham in 2009.
A federal lawsuit was filed last year claiming East St. Louis refused to hire a former top commander of the Illinois State Police because he is white. Jenne is white.
East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Jenne’s hiring had nothing to do with the previous allegations.
