The owner of an eight-foot boa constrictor that got loose recently has been cited for two city ordinance violations in Quincy, Ill.
Fifty-four-year-old Dan T. McLaughlin of 620 S. 24th was charged with possession of a restricted animal without a permit and failure to report the escape of a restricted animal.
The city requires the owner of any constrictor snake at least six-feet long to receive a permit. A separate section requires the owner of a restricted animal to report escapes.
The reptile had not been found Wednesday. Authorities urged people to call 911 if they spotted the snake.
