Featuring a style that was worn by ballplayers at Clemens Field when it first opened, the uniforms to be worn this season by the Hannibal Cavemen of the Prospect League were revealed to the public Saturday afternoon in the Clemens Field Plaza.
A group of approximately 30 fans turned out for a look at both the team’s home white and road gray uniforms.
Bob Hemond, Cavemen co-owner, said the design of the uniforms was in keeping with the baseball tradition of Clemens Field, which opened in the late 1930s.
“The uniforms reflect the strong tradition of baseball in Hannibal,” he said.
The Cavemen begin play Thursday, June 4, when they host the Dupage Dragons. Hannibal will open the season with four consecutive home games.
