A Hannibal woman faces charges after authorities got a tip about possible animal abuse.
Police said they found 10 dogs that were neglected and needed medical treatment at a house in the 2000 block of Hope Street.
Seven dogs were found in the back yard and three were in an enclosed rear porch. The animals were taken to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society shelter in Hannibal.
Rose M. White, 56, is charged with 10 counts of animal neglect, 10 counts of not having a city dog license and one count of having an excessive number of animals. A Dec. 15 court date has been set.
If convicted on all charges, she faces fines of almost $6,000 and up to five years in county jail.
