Russell Scott Faria, O’Fallon, (born 1970) is scheduled for arraignment before Judge Dan Dildine in Lincoln County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6.
Faria is charged with murder in the first degree and armed criminal action.
On Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, Russell Faria’s wife, Elizabeth Faria, was found deceased in her home with multiple stab wounds to her body.
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was called to assist in the investigation.
More than 20 investigators with the squad investigated more than 100 leads. A search warrant of the residence was conducted. Russell Faria was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, and questioned regarding the murder; however, he was released on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, due to lack of evidence at the time.
On Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office detectives continued their investigation at the residence, located in the 100 block of Sumac Drive, Troy, Mo.
The information obtained during the totality of the investigation resulted in the charges sought against Russell Faria .
Russell Faria is currently being held in the Lincoln County Jail in lieu of a $1,000,000 cash-only bond.
