Adam Cole Chamberlain, 308 Dingle Ave., Palmyra, (born 1972) was arraigned on a charge of DWI, alcohol, aggravated offender, a Class C felony, in Marion County Circuit Court at Palmyra on Feb. 1.
The charges stem from a rear-end collision at 9:29 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, in Palmyra.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a patrol car, a 2011 Dodge Charger driven by Paul M. Behrens, 37, of Hannibal, Mo., was pursuing a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Chamberlain.
Officers said they were on Jefferson Street at Bradley Street, when the Chamberlain car hit a parked car and stopped, then reversed into the patrol car, causing a collision.
The collision caused minor damage, and both cars were driven from the scene.
In addition to the DWI felony charge, Chamberlain was also charged with failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, a Class C misdemeanor; leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, a Class A misdemeanor; failure to stop for a stop sign, a Class C misdemeanor; and exceeding posted speed limit by 20-25 mph, A Class B misdemeanor.
A pre-trial setting is scheduled for 10 a.m. March 7, 2012, at the Palmyra Courthouse.
