Hannibal, MO —
Ricky D. Benner, 42, of La Belle, has been charged with statutory rape in the second degree, according to Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish.
Parrish reported an investigation was conducted by his office regarding an allegation that Benner was having sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl in July and August.
His warrant was sought by Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney Jules DeCoster and issued by Judge Fred Westhoff of Lewis County.
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the Benner was arrested on the warrant. He remained in Lewis County Jail Thursday with bond set at $10,000, cash only.
Parrish reported his office was assisted by the Missouri Children’s Division.
