Tichenor is charged with assault in the second degree, a Class C felony, and armed criminal action, an unclassified felony.
Hannibal police took Tichenor into custody in the 500 block of North Street on March 28, 2011, after he allegedly attacked a woman with a shovel.
A 20-year-old female from Maywood was injured during the assault.
On April 4, 2011, Judge John Jackson entered an order for a mental examination to determine the suspect’s competency.
