Dennis R. Powell, 17, of Hannibal, was arrested Monday June 30, after a stolen vehicle was recovered.
The Hannibal Police Department was called to the 200 block of South Eighth Street just after midnight to investigate a report of a vehicle, which was believed stolen, parked in a yard.
Lt. James Hark reported the police contacted the resident, who said the vehicle was left there by a known suspect. Officers were able to obtain information from the vehicle that identified the owners.
The police contacted the owners, who had not discovered the vehicle had been stolen and requested it be recovered.
Powell was located at his home and was taken into custody without incident. Powell was arrested for first degree tampering (felony) and possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor). He was transported to the Marion County Jail on a 24-hour hold, pending the issuance of warrants.
