The following cases were heard in Circuit Court, Associate division, and reported by Marion County Prosecuting Attorney Tom Redington. He said each defendant pleaded guilty.
• Michael Thompson was on probation. A motion to revoke it had been filed and it was revoked on Sept. 26. He was sentenced to 30 days in the Marion County Jail.
• Lisa K. Feldman, charged with assault, On Sept. 26 she was sentenced to 21 days in the Marion County Jail, with credit for time served.
• Darla L. McGruder, charged with stealing. On Sept. 26, she was sentenced to six months in the Marion County Jail. She was granted a suspended execution of sentence (SES) pending successful completion of supervised probation for two years; was required to complete any counseling and treatment the probation officer requires, ordered to serve 48 consecutive hours of shock incarceration, paying her own board bill, complete 20 hours community service, pay $100 to the Marion County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund and pay court costs.
• James Brown Jr., driving while intoxicated, second offense. On Sept. 26, 2008, he was sentenced to six months in the Marion County Jail with a suspended execution of sentence (SES) pending successful completion of private probation for two years. He was required to serve five consecutive days of shock incarceration, paying his own board bill, complete 20 hours community service, complete any counseling and treatment the probation officer requires, pay $100 to the Marion County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund, pay court costs and pay the recoupment of funds according to the MSHP or HPD request in the file.
• Steven E. White, possession of marijuana. On Sept. 26 he was sentenced to six months in the Marion County Jail with a suspended execution of sentence (SES) pending successful completion of supervised probation for two years. He was required to serve 48 hours of shock incarceration, paying his own board bill, pay $100 to the Marion County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund and pay court costs.
• Terry D. Ellison, non-support, misdemeanor. On Sept. 26, 2008, he received a six months sentence. Execution of sentence was suspended and he was placed on two years supervised probation. He was ordered to serve 48 consecutive hours of shock incarceration, pay his own board bill, pay $100 to the Marion County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund and to pay court costs. A specific condition of his probation is that he pay his child support obligation.
