Mother’s report of attempted kidnapping a hoax

La Grange, Mo. —

The La Grange Police Department has explained that the mother who said she prevented an attempted kidnapping of her 2-year-old daughter on Oct. 20 has admitted her report was completely false. The police reported a lengthy investigation was conducted and officers learned there was no foundation for the report.
