A Kids in Motion (KIM) fund-raiser is planned Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Sawyer’s Creek and Rustic Oak Riverview restaurant.

The restaurant will be donating $1 per adult entrée that evening between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. and the Sawyer’s Creek Fun Park will be donating a $1 per person per attraction to the program. Some of the 2010 KIM participants will be helping with the event.
The Douglass Community Services KIM program teaches teens and pre-teens to value work, value their community and to value their future, according to Amy Vaughn, KIM program director. Participants learn work ethic, responsibility and teamwork skills all through service projects in their local community. The program receives no federal or state funding and is totally supported by private foundations, individual donations and fund-raising efforts. Sawyer’s Creek is on state Highway 79 across from the Mark Twain Cave. For more information, contact Vaughn at 221-3892 or Jeanne Youngwirth, general manager/Sawyer’s Creek at 221-2200.
