Hannibal, MO —

The Marion County Emergency Services 911 Board of Directors have announced a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new 911 Communications Center will be conducted on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.
A short ceremony will be followed by tours of the new center for local dignitaries and media representatives. Refreshments will be served.
Two public open houses are planned for Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. until noon and Sunday, Nov. 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The new building was designed by architectural firm Poepping, Stone, Bach and Associates (PSBA) and constructed by Bleigh Construction at a cost of $2.2 million
dollars. Over $500,000 in radio communications and 911 call-handling equipment for the project was provided by a state of Missouri Homeland Security grant. This equipment, which includes a new 180-foot antenna tower, was engineered and installed by A&W Communications of Eolia.
The new 911 Center is located at 3246 Highway 61 on the northern edge of Hannibal, just past FCS Financial and across from River Bluff Apartments.
