The Hannibal Police Department reported on Saturday night, Oct. 20, officers were called to a fight in progress at the intersection of James Road and U.S. 61.

The Hannibal Police Department reported on Saturday night, Oct. 20, officers were called to a fight in progress at the intersection of James Road and U.S. 61.

When officers arrived, they were contacted by a 27-year-old man with significant head and facial injuries. The victim stated he had been assaulted by an unknown male, who had left the area.

The victim was treated for his injuries at Hannibal Regional Hospital and released.

After receiving a description of the suspect and the vehicle he had fled in, officers located the suspect at a residence in the 3600 block of Atoka Street.

Jerome N Patrick, 28, of St. Ann, was arrested and placed an a 24-hour hold at the Marion County Jail. On Sunday, Oct. 21, a warrant issued charging Patrick with assault, second degree. His bond was set at $10,000, and he remained in the Marion County Jail.
