All five elementary schools had 100 percent parent participation last year

Parents of children in the Hannibal public school district will have the opportunity to meet with their offsprings' teachers during next week's annual parent/teacher conferences.

Conferences are scheduled between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Early Childhood Center, Veterans Elementary, Stowell Elementary and Oakwood Elementary.

On Tuesday, conferences will take place between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Early Childhood Center and Veterans Elementary. At the high school, middle school, career and tech center, Mark Twain Elementary and Eugene Field Elementary the conferences will take place between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m..

On Wednesday, conferences will occur at Eugene Field Elementary, Oakwood Elementary and Stowell Elementary between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. That same day conferences are planned between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the high school, career and tech center and middle school.

The week of conferences wraps up between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday at Mark Twain Elementary.

"Typically you will see that the elementaries get close to 100 percent (participation). It drops significantly when you get to the middle school and drops even more when you get to the high school," Assistant Superintendent Darin Powell said during Wednesday's Hannibal Board of Education meeting.

Last year all five elementary schools, plus the Early Childhood Center achieved 100 percent participation during the conferences.

The middle school and career and technical center achieved three-year highs.
