A parking area near the entrance to Riverview Park in Hannibal was resurfaced with asphalt Thursday morning.
Riverview Park visitors will find parking more accessible near the entrance to Hannibal’s largest park.
A small parking area near the water filter plant was resurfaced with asphalt Thursday morning. Not only will the parking lot be smoother, its number of slots will be expanded from just a handful to more than a dozen.
The work was jointly performed by members of the Street Department and Parks Department to help reduce costs.
At least two other parking areas will receive similar attention, such as the location adjacent to the park’s restrooms, near the western entrance to White Pines Trail, and the public parking space near the playground.
Upgrades in Hannibal’s largest park began a year ago when the four-way intersection was redone.
