The Shinn Lane roundabout in Hannibal was dedicated Wednesday morning during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Shinn Lane roundabout was officially dedicated Wednesday morning in western Hannibal.
Barricades were removed to open the roundabout to traffic late Friday.
"Have there been any accidents yet?" asked one of the approximately 35 onlookers Wednesday.
While Hannibal Mayor James Hark is glad the $1.6 million project is complete, he said its value won't be truly realized for about another decade as development along Shinn Lane progresses and the traffic volume increases.
Work on the project began in April, and the lane was closed to through traffic in late May.
The project's general contractor, Bleigh Construction, finished on schedule.
The city, board of public works and a grant covered the cost of the project.
Shinn Lane connects Highway MM and U.S. 36.
