Hannibal High School has honored the September Students of the Month.

Hannibal High School has honored the September Students of the Month.

They are:

• Grade 9: Kendel Locke, the daughter of David and Sara Locke, is a member of the Student Council. Her sports are HHS volleyball and HHS swim team. Her academic honors and awards include being ninth grade Student of the Year at Hannibal Middle School, and seven and eighth grade Mahan speech contests winner. She enjoys snow skiing. Her hobbies are ceramics, reading, karaoke, scuba diving and ice spitting. She plans to go into the medical field after college.

• Grade 10: Jozlyn Louise Adair Bowen, the daughter of Henry Bowen and Angela Bowen, is a member of the YMCA and the Key Club. Her motivation for success in school is, “College has always been a huge goal for me. That goal is what keeps me going.” Her hobbies are reading, listening to music and cleaning. Her goal is to “graduate high school, get into college and graduate college.”

• Grade 11: Jessica Nicole Voepel, the daughter of Jeff Voepel and Sharla Voepel, is a member of the Key Club. Her motivation for success in school is “working hard now to give myself and future family a better future.” An interesting fact about her is she has had a poem published in a magazine. Her hobbies are painting, reading, writing and baking. Her future goal is: “My biggest dream is to either become a motivational speaker or a novelist.”

• Grade 12: Maddie Michelle Janes is the daughter of Brandee and Charlie Janes. She is a member of the Key Club, Premed Club, Skills USA, FBLA, Student Council, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. She plays volleyball and soccer. Her academic honors and awards include A Honor Roll, Premed Club vice president and National Honor Society president. Her motivation for success in school is “I would like to be a pediatrician, so I need to stay on top of my school work.” She has one dog, two brothers and one sister. Her hobbies are playing sand volleyball and taking her dog for walks. Her future goal is to “be happy and enjoy what I do.”
