Palmyra city officials recently forged a partnership with the University of Missouri Extension as they continue to pursue growth of the recently-expanded Warren Head Business Park.

Members of Palmyra's Industrial Development Authority (IDA) have previously discussed ways to market the 81.2-acre expansion to the business park to potential businesses. IDA officials recently met with Chris Kempke, county engagement specialist and economic development specialist with the University of Missouri Extension, to discuss promoting the business park on a state website.

Rapid progression is also occurring for the 80,000-square-foot expansion facility from Rack Builders Inc., doing business as Palmyra Industrial Inc.

Mayor Loren Graham said crews had equipment inside the burgeoning facility, and the exterior was almost complete Thursday. Graham said two or three businesses have discussed the potential of establishing a facility in the business park. Bleigh Construction is completing the road, curbs and gutters nearby, and utility extensions are underway in the area.

Graham and fellow IDA members look forward to publicizing the business park with Kempke's help.

Kempke is also invited to a future Palmyra City Council meeting to discuss potential projects for other parts of the Flower City.

Graham stressed that the forthcoming facility will also help the business park grow. “I think that will be a big boost to the whole development out there,” he said, noting that the initial business would offer wide-reaching benefits. “It will help us in marketing the rest of the land.”
