The 10th Annual Chuck Fletcher Labor Day Memorial Ride is planned on Monday, Sept. 3, in New London.

Fletcher passed away due to an automobile accident on Labor Day, Sept. 1, 2008. Since then, his friends and family have remembered him by taking a short motorcycle ride.

First organized by Fletcher's friend, Mike Campbell, the ride has been coordinated by Campbell's daughter, Maggie Bates, since Campbell's retirement.

The ride will begin at Abel’s Quick Shop in New London at 11 a.m. after the riders meet at 10:30 a.m. The American Legion Riders Chapter 55 of Hannibal will lead the ride around Mark Twain Lake and will fly flags through New London in honor of Fletcher being a U.S. Army veteran.

Following the ride and the small procession through New London, the B.O.S.S. Riders will host a get-together at 302 S. Main St. in New London, across from the courthouse.

The Facebook event will have any updates. It can be found at
