The Palmyra R-I Parents as Teachers Program, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation and Palmyra Park & Recreation Department, invite families to discover nature and the joy of reading in Flower City Park. A storybook trail brings to life Mary Lyn Ray’s book “Mud” with illustrations by Lauren Stringer.

Families and their children will have an opportunity to discover the joys of mud when it squishes, splats and slurps around rocks, leaves and the changes in the seasons.

The Storybook trail will be up in Flower City Park by the Volleyball Pit from Tuesday, September 4 to Friday, September 14. Special activities for preschoolers are planned from 9 to 10 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 and Monday, Sept. 10.

Children and their parents will have a chance to play, create and discover the magic of mud and other items found in nature.
