Two sitting members on the Marion County Planning and Zoning Board have been reappointed to serve another four years. The County Commission took the action during its Aug. 20 meeting at the Marion County Courthouse in Palmyra.

Agreeing to continue serving on the board were Susan Gard, representing the Union Township in the Philadelphia area, and Bridget Bleigh-Bouyea, who represents Mason Township which is part of Hannibal.

"The commissioners appreciate the work they put in volunteering for the county," said Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode. "Sometimes it is an easy job. Other times it is controversial."

The county's Planning and Zoning Board consists of eight members, two of which are appointed or reappointed every year. Board members make recommendations to the Commission on County building and planning issues. The commissioners ultimately decide the fate of planning and zoning matters.
