Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in Marion County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the mishap occurred at 3:42 p.m., July 12, on U.S. 24 in West Quincy.

A 2006 Chrysler minivan was being driven westbound on U.S. 24 by 71-year-old Michael E. Metcalf of Palmyra while a 2008 Honda Accord was being driven southbound from the Ayerco parking lot by 86-year-old Albert F. Emerick of Quincy, Ill. The collision occurred when the Honda pulled into the path of the Chrysler.

Suffering moderate injuries was Albert F. Emerick. Emerick's wife, 87-year-old Darlene I. Emerick, who was a passenger in the Honda, sustained minor injuries. Also left with minor injuries was Metcalf.

Metcalf was transported by private vehicle to Blessing Hospital in Quincy. The Emericks were taken by Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital.

All of the injured were wearing safety devices at the time of the collision.
