John Paul Tomko, a Republican, will sign a notarized pledge Thursday to donate the salary of State Representative ($35,915 per year) to local charities.

A candidate for the Missouri House District representing Hannibal has vowed to donate his salary if elected.

John Paul Tomko, a Republican, will sign a notarized pledge Thursday to donate the salary of State Representative ($35,915 per year) to local charities and not-for-profits should he win the Aug. 7 Republican Primary and November General Election.

One piece of the pledge will include a provision to never accept lobbyist gifts while in office and five years after public service, duplicating the order of former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens in the executive branch.

Tomko is one of four Republicans seeking the party's nomination on Aug. 7.
