Two Vandalia residents were injured when they were ejected from a motorcycle that crashed during a police pursuit at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, June 10, in rural Pike County.

Two Vandalia residents were injured when they were ejected from a motorcycle that crashed during a police pursuit at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, June 10, in rural Pike County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Mark A. Teague, 40, was riding a 2014 Harley Davidson Street Glide and failed to yield to the Vandalia police.

Officers said a pursuit ensued, and Teague attempted to make a right turn from Route V onto Pike County Road 447. The motorcycle began to skid and overturned, ejecting Teague and his passenger, Shari J. Love, 46.

Teague was not using a safety device and suffered serious injuries. He was flown to the University Hospital in Columbia.

Love was using a safety device and had minor injuries. She was treated at the scene and released.
